Ger camp

ger4It is also named as ger camp and yurt camp for tourists. In average there are 20 gers/yurts in one tourist camp. Toilet, shower and laundry are located in separate buildings, not far from guest gers. Almost all tourist camps have souvenir and small food shops and pub. They use 220V electricity generator and it means that you can recharge your battery in particular times a day. Some of camps have 24 hours electricity. Service person makes fire in furnace in the guest ger and this kind of service is also available during night time if you want. They can bring hot water and tea as well.

ger2Certainly, camps gers, covered with felt are more refined than traditional nomadic ones, which are still common in countryside life today. Facility inside gers are comfortable. Its floor is covered with linoleum or mat.

efore there was a traditional wooden bed in gers and it was very hard for tourists. Mostly, tourist could not get good relax. Now, camps are using single and double comfortable modern designed beds and soft mattress. Tourists are provided with clean bed sheets. 3-4 tourists stay in one ger and single and family stay in one ger also available. Towel and slippers are in gers. In shortly, you can expect the same facilities, which hotels use.

It is little bit noisy when it is heavy rain, but safe and fire in the furnace makes the ger warm.

You should guess a very big ger. In average, 50 people can have meals in once. Tables, chairs, dishes and spoons as well, all utilities are the same with restaurant’s. Good choice for breakfast, lunch and dinner menus. Mainly, tourist camps serve with European meals. Some camps serve with their brand meals. Special menu for vegetarians. It is possible Mongolian traditional barbecue, khorkhog is available by order at any camps.

Toilet and shower

ger6Toilet and shower are located in separate buildings in middle or corner of camps, in 15-30 meters from guest gers. The most of tourist camps have clean and comfortable toilets for men and women, separately. But, some camps /very less/ do not have such good toilets. There is hot shower in all camps. There is a common problem with shower water running because water pumping system in the countryside. But, it is OK to have a shower anyway. Sauna is available at some camps, while laundry is available at all camps. It is not expensive. The most of the camps serve with massage. It costs 10-25$. Not bad for anyone, tired with long driving in a car.
