Tour 1 One day trip (UB area)

Ride through places, located in 40-150 kms from UB for 1-2 days. /It is available to ride to Kharkhorin /360 kms x 2/ You can see Terelj National Park, which is located beautiful natural scene, mixed with high rocky Mountains, forest and River. Also, Manchir Monastery, located in skirt of high Mountain and it is one of the precious heritages of Buddhist religion. You can ride to Hustai national Park, where it is available to see wild horses. Besides these you can visit a nomadic family and stay at their ger.

Tour 2 Kharkhorin (Central area) 1850-2900$ per person

You will ride through beautiful natural scene, including the most incredible places of the central region.

Day 1: Arrive at UB and stay at a hotel. After lunch city tour, visit Chinggis Khaan Monument, built in front of the Government House in the central Square of UB and see National History Museum. See motorcycles and make short practice to prepare for the trip. After dinner see a folk art concert.

Day 2: Early in the morning ride to Elsen Tasarkhai, sand dune located in big steppe and stay at a tourist camp, located near the dune. Free time, hiking and relax.

Day 3: After breakfast continue the trip and ride for 1.5 hour to Kharkhorin, capital of ancient Mongolian Dynasty and visit Erdenezuu Monastery, one of biggest heritages of Buddhism. After picnic lunch ride to Orkhon, the biggest waterfall and camp.

Day 4: Off road ride through Forest high Mountain and during the way visit a nomadic family. Visit Tsenkher hot spa, located in skirt of beautiful forest Mountain. Stay at a tourist camp. It is available to have hot spa bath in small stone pool, in skirt of the Mountain.

Day 5: Leave Mountain zone and ride through steppe zone and in the evening come to Ogii Lake. Camp at the bank of the Lake.

Day 6: Ride back to UB and in the evening stay at a hotel and relax.

Day 7: After breakfast drive to Terelj National Park by a mini bus. After lunch drive back to UB and souvenir shopping. Special dinner at a barbeque restaurant.

Tour 3 Gobi Desert (Southern area)

Day 5: See wonderful moment of sun rising in Gobi steppe in the morning and leave the Gobi zone. Ride through a big steppe for the whole day and come to Ongi Temple ruins, destroyed because of socialist ideology. It was main center of central region Buddhist religion and over 700 lams were killed when the Temple was destroyed. Stay at a tourist camp at the ruins.

Day 6: Ride back to UB and in the evening stay at a hotel and relax.

Day 7: Day 7 After breakfast drive to Terelj National Park by a mini bus. After lunch drive back to UB and souvenir shopping. Special dinner at a barbeque restaurant.

Briefly about motorcycle tours in Mongolia

Motorcycle tour in Mongolia is attracting more and more travelers in recent years. The main reason of this expansion of such kind of tours in Mongolia is travelers’ attraction to great open space and beautiful wilderness in different geographic and natural zones of the country. Anyone, who travels through vertical terrestrial axis in Mongolia, is available to see different natural scenes, such as steppe, mountain, forest, lakes, rivers and Gobi desert.

Before very less travelers, who are really adventurous and brave, came to Mongolia. But, now the country already becomes a main route of global adventure travelers from Europe to Asia. Every year, world famous international auto and motorcycle competitions, rallies are organized in the country. Tour program, which is including speed driving through open steppe, skill drive through high Mountain and forest and any other such adventure activities, can be so fascinating for auto travelers.

Almost ten years ago, the first motorcycle tours in Mongolia for foreign travelers were organized. A Russian IZ motorcycle, which is still very common in the countryside of Mongolia even today, was used for the first tours. Travelers by IZ faced with problem to fix and repair small damages and breaks every day and it wasted much time. Then, tour operators started to use Japanese motorcycle and it was a good step to improve technical and security condition of tours. Mostly, they use 250cc motorcycles and some of them started to use 400cc now. Because of less experience, some tour operators used Chinese 150cc motorcycles some years ago and they had hardly finished their each tour with such motorcycles. Countryside off-road in Mongolia is very hard and extreme climate and dry weather strongly influence to condition of the road, which just high quality motorcycles can successfully cross.

In previous years, German and Britain companies have started their business in Mongolia and organizing motorcycle tours for their clients. Mostly, they are using 660cc motorcycles. Both foreign and local tour companies started to use good and new motorcycles and some of them is using bikes, made in 2007, 2008.

Motorcycle travelers are interested in riding strong bikes. I know how fantastic to ride through great open space with speedy bikes. But, according to my experience and practice, 250cc motorcycle is the most suitable for Mongolian off-road. Motorcycles with engine of less than 250cc can not manage to cross long roads in open space of the country. Also, 400cc, 600cc bikes are hard for travelers to cross hard roughs of road. The most of accidents, which travelers were injured, were caused of big motorcycles. So, it is warning that travelers should choose size of motorcycles, which fit with their heights and riding skills.

There are 3-4 local and 3 foreign companies are in regular business of motorcycle adventure tours in Mongolia now. Of course, there are some other tour operators and companies, who arrange motorcycle tours, if their clients request such some of tours some time and they organize such tours with help of the above mentioned companies. Because, motorcycle tours in Mongolia need professional skill and experience and of course professional staffs. It is much better to cooperate with experienced and specialized companies, who can arrange well planned, good quality tours.
